My ESC experience- Elly Wilke

During my 10 months in Molfetta I learned a lot, but especially how to grow as a person.
I worked at the school „Manzoni- Poli“ with students of the age from 6 to 13 and supported the English lessons there, by doing presentations and presenting my own culture. Together with the teachers we did a few projects and I personally enjoyed the little „dance classes“ the most:)
I also got the chance to live together with other volunteers in one flat. Living with 9 other people can be challenging, but in the end I formed nice friendships and learned a lot about me and life in general. I grew as a person and got out of my comfort zone, I learned how to stand up for my self but also how important it is to have people in your life that are there for you.
Over the weekends I did a lot of trips to explore puglia and Italy together with the other volunteers. I’m really thankful for all the great friendships I built here. I think everyone who lived in molfetta for such long time, will miss the city when they leave, that’s why my advice for other volunteers is to enjoy every sunny day you have there and eat as much pizza as possible! 🙂
