I’m Veronika from Slovakia and this summer I spent as a volunteer in Molfetta. I had been thinking about volunteering abroad for a long time and I’m happy I finally made this decision.
I spent a great summer here and whenever I had a problem or needed help, people from InCo were always there for me. They were kind, supportive, and always tried to make everything as good as possible.
I really liked that I could organize my own activities. I had a chance to organize painting classes at Trullo Beach. In my country I enjoy taking part in painting classes as a student but this time I was the one planning and leading them. At first, it was a little challenging because it was something new for me, but after the first class I became more confident. Some classes were really busy with a lot of people and it was great to see everyone having fun and being creative.
Other days I was helping at a summer camp with children. I liked creating and organizing games that helped them learn English in a fun way.
One of the best part of this experience was meeting people from different countries. I learned about different cultures and shared many unforgettable moments.
I also really appreciated that I had the opportunity to attend an Italian language course. It was a great chance to learn some Italian and get to know the local culture better.
I would recommend an ESC volunteering experience to everyone who is thinking about spending some time abroad. It was a great experience that I will always remember. Everyone from the organization was very kind, helpful and supportive. You can really see that they enjoy their work and always do their best to help the volunteers.
