Ciao ๐
I’m Sarah and I volunteered 10 months in Municipality in the Comune di Molfetta. I have to say it was not always easy in my workspace, but in the end it was a really fulfilling work space, working with children and highschool students as well as organizing projects on my own for the comunity. This work teached me to be more resilient, grateful and confident and even helped me figuring out my career goals in the future.
But in the end my work was not the most important part of my life in the beautiful city in Puglia. I made the most amazing and precious friendships for which I will forever be grateful for. I was able to explore not only the region of Puglia, but also many other cities in Italy! Travelling, enjoying the amazing sea, eating lotsss of pizza and pasta made my experience in Molfetta unforgettable ๐
I don’t want to lie, because there have also been very hard times for us volunteers – if it was because of work, the weather or personal problems – but in the end the most important thing to remember is that there will be better times and you just have to work through the difficult ones. We learned that the best way to solve our problems is to always try open communication and to not ignore it when you feel uncomfortable!
Working and living abroad during this project taught me many things- confidence, the ability to work through hard times and most importantly to step out of my comfort zone and try new things!
